in 2018 We shifted the most iconic symbol in a male-dominated industry to make a statement and raise awareness about gender inequality.
GENDER INEQUALITY IN THE FILM INDUSTRY

Gender discrimination in Hollywood is a fact. Only 20% of producers, 13% of writers, 4% of directors and 1% of composers are women,

 regardless of talent or capability.

HOW WE DID IT

We used social platforms to spread the message and make the female statue a symbol of action by asking people to sign a petition that demands the Academy Awards to only nominate films with equal gender representation.

THE WEBSITE

We created a website to explain the goal of the project and to let people know not just about the statue, but about all the different ways they can support the cause.

THE CHANGE

We opened up a petition on change.org to ask for more gender equal nominations in the Academy Awards. Join the movement here.

THE MAKING OF

We designed a female-shaped Oscar statue and 3D printed.
